Original legacy operative paragraph
Source publication: 1998-04-15 · Document 98-9750. Independent observation edition: selected-ad-source-text-extension-3.0.0.
This paragraph is newly retained from the same immutable official publication. It is a legacy §39.13 amendment and the publication’s own AD header, not a newly invented Affected ADs heading. The earlier observation edition remains unchanged.
2. Section 39.13 is amended by removing Airworthiness Directive (AD) 79-01-04, Amendment 39-3381, and by adding a new AD to read as follows: 98-08-18 The New Piper Aircraft, Inc. (formerly Piper Aircraft Corporation): Amendment 39-10467; Docket No. 90-CE-65-AD. Supersedes 79-01-04, Amendment 39-3381.
The own operative header explicitly uses Supersedes
and names AD 79-01-04. This is a dated historical textual relation; a matching header label is source navigation, not identity or supersession authority. Current legal effect, aircraft applicability and compliance remain undetermined.

altered, or repaired so that the performance of the requirements of
this AD is affected, the owner/operator must request approval for an
alternative method of compliance in accordance with paragraph (g) of
this AD. The request should include an assessment of the effect of
the modification, alteration, or repair on the unsafe condition
addressed by this AD; and, if the unsafe condition has not been
